Derek graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with a Masters of Physical Therapy (MPT) in 2014. He holds a Bachelors of Science in Biology from the University of Victoria graduating in 2011. He completed his Fellowship of Canadian Manipulative Physical Therapy (FCAMPT) in December 2019. He has also completed his GUNN-IMS in September 2021 and is certified in Dry Needling. He has a special interest in TMJ dysfunction, crainiofascial pain and cervical dysfunction.

Derek is originally from British Columbia, but has made Regina home since graduating from the University of Saskatchewan in 2014. He has worked in orthopaedic private practice since living in Regina.

In his spare time he plays rugby with the Regina Condors RFC, golfs, enjoys strength training and spending his time with his fiance and their dog and rabbit

Karisa Groff was born and raised in Regina, Saskatchewan and completed her Bachelors of Kinesiology in Human Kinetics degree right at home at the University of Regina. Her further interest in human movement and injury rehabilitation led her to California where she completed her Doctor of Chiropractic Degree at Palmer West in San Jose graduating as Valedictorian with summa cum laude honours.

Karisa grew up as an elite gymnast and has since continued her passion for health and fitness with strength training. She is passionate about treating all athletes from high school and university students, to weekend warriors and active lifestyle individuals. Since graduation Karisa has stayed busy, obtaining her CCMI Concussion Management certification, Active Release Technique certifications, as well as attending the NFL Combine Chiropractic Conference in order to further her knowledge in the chiropractic profession and treating athletes.

When it comes to musculoskeletal pain complaints, Karisa believes that a non-invasive approach and personalized treatment plan can get you back to doing your favourite activities and moving pain free. She works to provide quick, effective, long term outcomes in order to help you move and feel better.

In her spare time, Karisa enjoys staying active by strength training in the gym and exploring new HIIT and group style classes throughout the city. She loves going on walks with her dog Nala, trying new restaurants and going on weekend camping and hiking adventures.

Chiropractor

Sean is a rehabilitation-based chiropractor who believes in addressing pain by analyzing movement and getting to the root cause of the injury. He conducts comprehensive assessments to develop personalized treatment plans that support immediate and sustained recovery. Sean was recruited from the renowned University of Western States in Portland,Oregon where he obtained both his bachelor of science and his doctorate of chiropractic. Sean also has a bachelor of kinesiology which serves as the foundational basis of his understanding and expertise in movement. To further enhance his skills in the rehabilitation field, Sean has completed over a dozen training seminars focused on rehabilitation and soft tissue therapy.

In his free time, Sean is actively involved in CrossFit and sports such as tennis, golf, and downhill skiing. Sean is excited to join the Stapleford team to provide the highest level of patient care alongside his respected team of colleagues.

Kevin graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with a Masters in Physical Therapy in 2023. Prior, to this, he completed his Kinesiology degree at the University of Regina in 2020 and worked as an exercise therapist and certified personal trainer prior to completing his physical therapy degree.

Kevin has a special interest in musculoskeletal conditions, particularly working with athletes as he had the opportunity to work with the Huskie Football in the past. Kevin has a passion for working with clients to achieve their rehabilitation goals and helping them return to doing what they love.

Dr. Miller graduated from the Grant MacEwan University Acupuncture program with Distinction in 2011. She began her acupuncture career doing a lot of work with fertility and stress related issues at a clinic in Sherwood Park, Alberta. She then moved to the Okanagan and for 8 years and worked with injury and pain management for conditions like arthritis, back pain, sciatica, and pre and post-surgical pain. She continued her work with women’s health but shifted into pregnancy treatments like labor induction and turning breeched babies as well as menstrual issues. In 2020, Dr. Miller moved back to her home province of Saskatchewan and throughout the past few years has developed a practice of continuing to treat women’s health, pain management and circled back to treating many stress related issues that arose and worsened with the pandemic. Her acupuncture sessions are designed to help the patient rest to regulate the nervous system and gain a remembered sense of well being. Pain relief is often experienced with just one session. Dr. Miller considers it extremely important to educate her patients on how Traditional Chinese Acupuncture works and why it can be so beneficial to one’s overall health to include the treatments in your healthcare options.

Dr. Miller is also a very experienced yoga practitioner and instructor. She is the only Certified Iyengar Yoga teacher in Southern Saskatchewan. After being a dedicated student for 10 years, she completed her national teaching assessment in Ottawa in 2015. She continues to study with her own teacher in Goa, India as well as with her peers at the Iyengar Yoga Centre Victoria, BC. She is a hockey mom to one teenage boy and a very busy dog mom to one adorable Lab/husky cross. She feels very fortunate to have created a balanced life centered around yoga and Chinese medicine.
